Brief Bio:

• Education - MA in Politics (1982) and M.Phil in International Politics (1984) from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi 

• Joined Indian Administrative Service in 1984 - Andhra Pradesh Cadre

• Worked on Deputation to United Nations in Kosovo as Civil Affairs Officer (mostly as Municipal Administrator) between November 1999 To December 2005.

• From 2006 to 2014, managed Transport, Rural Water Supply, Information Technology, Home, Infrastructure and Investment & Higher Education Department in Andhra Pradesh as Commissioner / Secretary / Principal Secretary to the Government.

• From 2014 to 2016, worked as Principal Secretary to Telangana government - as head of General Administration Department and Revenue Department.

• From December 2016 to July 2020, worked as Special Chief Secretary, Energy Department in the Telangana government. 

• Telangana today is one of the few states in the country to supply 24*7 electricity to all sections of the population.

• During this period, Telangana emerged as the leading state in the country for initiatives in the solar energy sector. Decentralized solar generation of approx 3,500 MW and more than 100 MW Of Solar Rooftop Projects were the highlights. 

• Visited Australia, New Zealand, and Western Europe to study energy-related issues. Speaker at numerous Workshops, Seminars, Conferences during the last few years. 

• Married to Mrs. Shalini Misra, IAS, presently working as Special Chief Secretary to Telangana government, in General, Administration Department.

• Active in Non-Government Organisations in Hyderabad, working for Arts and Culture promotion & cancer awareness.

• Presently, Hony is Advisor, to the Energy Sub-Committee Of The Federation Of Telangana Chamber Of Commerce and Industry in Hyderabad.

• From Aug 2021,  also working as Director-General of the Renewable Energy Society of India (RESI).

• He is the Hon Chairman of the Indian Red Cross Society, Telangana State nominated by the Hon'ble Governor of Telangana'.
